January 20, 2023

Tally is committed to building a diverse and inclusive culture where every Tallizen (Tally employee) feels a sense of belonging. To be effective and keep ourselves accountable, we are once again making our demographic data public.

Our 2022 report is based on the data collected for the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) questions and selections that were completed during our new employee onboarding process. The report is a snapshot of Tally’s full-time employees as of December 22, 2022.

We designed this year’s report to compare 2022 against 2021 so that it’s clear where we have improved and where we have more work to do.

Here are the key takeaways:

  • Tally as a whole is getting closer to gender parity, but in leadership Tally needs to do better. We continued to hire more women in 2022, which means we’re now generally split 42% women and 58% men. But in People managers and leadership roles, those identifying as women decreased (44% in 2022 from 48% in 2021 People Managers; and 20% in 2022 from 33% in 2021 Leadership). In 2023, we are investing in Tallizens to have increased leadership opportunities and visibility within broader communities.

  • On increasing racial and ethnic diversity, Tally has more work to do. The share of white employees has decreased to 45% in 2022 from 49% in 2021. While this progress is a step in the right direction, we recognize there remains underrepresentation among non-white ethnic groups. Although we do not have aggressive hiring plans in 2023, we affirm our commitment to building and fostering a diverse and inclusive work culture.
